The winter session of the Karnataka Legislature is set to commence on January 22, with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah calling on lawmakers to prioritise meaningful parliamentary debate and uphold the sanctity of the democratic process. Addressing the media ahead of the session, the Chief Minister underlined the need to safeguard voter integrity and ensure constructive discussions within the House.
Responding to a range of allegations levelled against his government, Siddaramaiah said the administration was prepared to answer all issues on the floor of the Legislature. He maintained that the government remained committed to transparency and constitutional values.
On inter-state matters, the Chief Minister reaffirmed Karnataka’s legal preparedness, particularly with regard to the long-standing Maharashtra–Karnataka border dispute. He stated that the state would continue to pursue its case through constitutional and legal channels.
The upcoming session is expected to witness intense debates on governance, development, and political accountability, as the government and opposition engage on key issues facing the state.
