Starring Pranam Devaraj and Khushi Ravi in the lead, S/O Muthanna marks the much‑awaited debut of Pranam Devaraj — the second son of Dynamic Star Devaraj — in a lead role. The film is scheduled for release on August 22, 2025.
🎶 The Song
Written by celebrated lyricist Yogaraj Bhat, composed by Sachin Basrur, and rendered soulfully by Sanjith Hegde, Midnight Rasthayalli is already being hailed as a refreshing romantic number with nostalgic vibes. It follows the success of the film’s first track, Kammangi Nan Magane, which also earned wide acclaim.
Speaking at the song launch, music director Sachin Basrur revealed that the film will feature a total of four songs:
“Two tracks are already out, and the remaining two will be released very soon. The response so far has been beyond our expectations.”
🎬 The Film
Directed by Srikanth Hunsur and produced under Purathana Films in association with SRK Films, S/O Muthanna is a relationship‑driven narrative exploring the emotional bond between a father and son. Veteran actor Rangayana Raghu plays the father, while Khushi Ravi essays the role of Sakshi, a doctor.
“This film is very close to my heart as it highlights the beautiful bond between a father and son. After seven and a half years, I’m back with a film, and I’m thankful to Purathana Films and our director for this opportunity,” said Pranam Devaraj at the press meet.
“I believe Sanjith Hegde’s rendition of ‘Midnight Rasthayalli’ will connect with audiences everywhere.”
Khushi Ravi also expressed optimism for more opportunities in Kannada cinema:
“This is my seventh film as a lead actress. I am receiving offers in other languages, but I truly hope to see more strong roles in Kannada films too.”
The film has been shot extensively in Varanasi, with contributions from choreographer Dhananjay Master, cinematographer Skating Krishna, and editor Harish Komme. Singer Sanjith Hegde treated attendees to a live performance of Midnight Rasthayalli, earning thunderous applause.
With strong music, heartfelt storytelling, and a talented ensemble, S/O Muthanna is shaping up as one of the most anticipated Kannada releases of 2025.
