In a move seen as an effort to maintain unity in the Karnataka Congress, senior leader Rahul Gandhi held separate meetings with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar in Mysuru on Tuesday.
Sources said discussions with Siddaramaiah focused on governance and implementation of welfare schemes, while talks with Shivakumar centred on organisational strengthening and upcoming local body elections. The one-on-one meetings are being viewed as a signal of the high command’s intent to manage internal differences and ensure coordination within the party.
Though the Congress has denied any leadership crisis, the Mysuru meetings underline the national leadership’s close watch on developments in Karnataka.
