Bengaluru: Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) recorded an 8 per cent year-on-year increase in passenger traffic, handling 43.82 million passengers in 2025, up from 40.73 million in 2024, airport operator BIAL said.
The growth was driven by rising travel demand, improved international connectivity, and infrastructure expansion. International departures grew by 28.7 per cent, with daily international flights increasing to 51 from 38. Domestic passengers numbered about 35.48 million, while international travellers totalled 8.34 million.
The airport achieved a peak single-day traffic of 1.37 lakh passengers in November and ranked second nationally in domestic flight operations. Cargo handling rose 5 per cent to 5.21 lakh metric tonnes.
BIAL plans to further expand global connectivity and capacity in 2026, strengthening Bengaluru’s position as a major aviation hub.
