Bamey’s Gastro Bar: A Slice of Nepal in the Heart of Koramangala

Tucked away in Bengaluru’s ever-buzzing Koramangala, Bamey’s Gastro Bar is not just a restaurant — it’s an experience steeped in warmth, flavour, and culture. Since its inception in 2016, this charming spot has brought a little piece of Nepal to “Namma Bengaluru,” becoming a beloved destination for those seeking authentic Himalayan fare in a vibrant setting.

Founded by Nikhil Agrawal, a native of Kathmandu, Bamey’s was born from a heartfelt vision — to introduce Bengaluru’s food lovers to the soulful simplicity and bold flavours of Nepalese cuisine. Nearly a decade later, it continues to be a favourite haunt for diners who crave something both comforting and adventurous.

Step inside, and you’re greeted by an ambience that instantly transports you to the mountain cafés of Kathmandu. Bamboo décor, warm tones, and a lively crowd create the perfect setting to unwind over food that’s as soulful as it is satisfying.

The Jhol Momos — plump dumplings swimming in a tangy, spicy broth — remain a signature crowd-pleaser. The Thakali Thali, with its hearty spread of lentils, rice, ghee, greens, and fiery pickles, captures the essence of Nepalese home-style dining. For those who prefer something warm and soothing, the Thukpa — a classic noodle soup — delivers comfort in every slurp, while the Lafing, a cold and spicy street-style delicacy, brings a burst of authentic Kathmandu street flavour.

At the bar, the creativity continues. The signature cocktail Sagarmatha — named after Mount Everest — is a bold, flavourful mix that mirrors the adventurous spirit of the menu.

Whether it’s a relaxed evening with friends or a quiet solo escape, Bamey’s Gastro Bar offers more than food — it offers a feeling. A feeling of home, hospitality, and the highlands.

So the next time your palate craves something beyond the ordinary, skip the routine and step into Bamey’s — where Nepal meets Bengaluru, and every bite tells a story.
