Newbie Anil Shetty is all set to make his debut as a lead actor with the upcoming AI-driven social thriller Lambodhara 2.0, directed by Simple Suni. Bollywood actress Saachi Bindra has been cast as the female lead.
Backed by MASS Production, Lambodhara 2.0 delves into contemporary themes surrounding artificial intelligence, youth culture, and the rapidly evolving digital ecosystem, positioning itself as a socially relevant, high-concept thriller.
The film recently had its auspicious Muhurta ceremony at the ISKCON Temple, attended by the cast and crew. Principal photography is scheduled to commence later this month, while Simple Suni is currently deep into pre-production with his team.
Talking about the film, Simple Suni shared that the story is inspired by today’s youth living in the digital age.
He added that as an AI social thriller, the film traces the journey of a young man from Bengaluru while gradually unraveling the layered conflict between the real and digital worlds.
Expressing her excitement, Saachi Bindra said the film’s emotional depth and relevance to modern digital lives instantly drew her to the project. She noted that despite its technological backdrop, the story remains deeply human, and described working with Simple Suni and sharing screen space with Anil Shetty as a special and enriching experience.
The makers have also revealed that MASS Production is in talks with a prominent Bollywood actor for a pivotal role. Adding to the ensemble, popular influencer Mac Macha will be seen in a comedian’s role.
The technical team includes Veer Samarth as music director, Santosh Rai Pathaje handling cinematography, and Ullas Hydoor as production designer. The story is penned by Anil Shetty and Abhijit Mahesh.
