The event drew a large gathering, including several non-Kannadiga officials and dignitaries.

Addressing the audience, Yash on Kannada language preservation, said, “Wherever you go, if you respect the language and culture of that place, it comes back to you tenfold. That’s what Kannada and Karnataka have taught me.” He appreciated the organisers for conducting competitions to encourage non-Kannadigas to learn Kannada.

Speaking in both Kannada and English, Yash emphasised that language cannot be imposed. “One cannot force anyone to learn a language, but we must make them understand the difficulty of not knowing the local language. Teaching Kannada with patience and pride is the way forward,” he said.

Yash also highlighted Karnataka’s progress, expressing pride that the state ranks second in tax contributions. “Our aim should be to reach first place,” he said, praising the dedication of officials present at the event.

Dressed in a simple white kurta-pajama, the actor charmed the audience with his humility and wit.
