Tamannaah Bhatia Named Brand Ambassador for Iconic Mysore Sandal Soap

Bengaluru, Feb. 10 Renowned actor Tamannaah Bhatia has officially begun her two-year tenure as the brand ambassador for the historic Mysore Sandal Soap, marking a significant promotional push for one of Karnataka’s most cherished heritage products.

The announcement comes as Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited (KSDL), the state-run manufacturer of Mysore Sandal Soap, aims to strengthen the brand’s national and international presence. Officials believe Tamannaah’s wide appeal across multiple film industries and strong youth following will help connect the legacy soap with a new generation of consumers while preserving its traditional identity rooted in pure sandalwood oil.

Mysore Sandal Soap, first introduced in 1916, has long symbolised Karnataka’s rich sandalwood heritage and government-backed quality standards. With this collaboration, KSDL is expected to roll out fresh advertising campaigns, digital promotions, and market expansion initiatives over the next two years.

Industry observers note that celebrity endorsements have increasingly become central to reviving heritage brands in competitive personal-care markets. Tamannaah’s association is therefore seen as a strategic move to enhance visibility, boost sales, and reinforce the premium positioning of Mysore Sandal Soap both in India and abroad.
