Rishab Shetty’s much-awaited Kantara Chapter 1 has stormed into cinemas with a sensational start, rewriting box office records across India.

According to early trade estimates, the film has grossed ₹60 crore Pan-India on Day 1, making it one of the biggest openers of 2025. The collections are divided as follows:

₹38 crore from Pan-India theatrical run

₹10 crore from offline bookings

₹12 crore from day-end updates

This brings the first-day gross to nearly ₹50–60 crore, a massive achievement for a regional-origin film with a Pan-India release.

Adding to this, BookMyShow officially confirmed that Kantara Chapter 1 sold a record-breaking 1.28 million tickets on release day, marking the highest Day 1 ticket sales in 2025 on the platform.

Industry insiders believe that the strong advance bookings, coupled with Rishab Shetty’s cult fan following after the blockbuster Kantara (2022), have created an unstoppable wave at the box office. With such momentum, trade analysts predict that the film could comfortably cross the ₹150 crore mark within its opening weekend.

Kantara Chapter 1, produced by Hombale Films, has released in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and English, ensuring its reach across the nation. The film is expected to not only dominate the domestic market but also make waves internationally.
