‘Ekka’ Receives Overwhelming Response from Kannada Audience, Say Makers

The Kannada action‑drama Ekka, starring Yuva Rajkumar, has roared into theaters with an opening that industry insiders are calling a turning point for Sandalwood this year. Released on July 18, the film is drawing packed audiences and delivering the kind of excitement that the Kannada box office has been craving.
Directed by Rohit Padaki, Ekka is jointly produced by Karthik Gowda and Yogi G Raj of KRG Studios, Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar of PRK Productions, and Jayanna–Bhogendra under Jayanna Films.
Producer Jayanna shared his delight over the film’s momentum:
“Since December 2024, no Kannada film had achieved strong box‑office numbers or full-house shows. But Ekka has changed that narrative with 80–90% occupancy across theaters, pulling in huge crowds.”
The production timeline itself is being hailed as a model for efficiency. Shooting began in January 2025 and wrapped up within six months, allowing the team to release the film right on schedule.
Co‑producer Yogi G Raj echoed the sentiment, adding:
