The most-awaited Kannada biggie Devil, starring Challenging Star Darshan, is slated for a grand release in December 2025. However, the buzz from the production team suggests that “Devil business is yet to start!” While post-production is in full swing with editing and dubbing, the team is reportedly waiting for the 8-minute showreel to be completed before opening business talks. “Offers are pouring in, but we’ll begin discussions after the showreel,” confirmed a member from the Devil team to Times Mahesha.
Meanwhile, the recently released romantic track ‘Onde Ondu Sala’, featuring Darshan and Rachana Rai, has received a lukewarm response. Fans felt the song didn’t match Darshan’s larger-than-life image, unlike the chartbuster ‘Iddare Nemmadi Yagi Erabeku’, which had gone viral earlier.
Adding to the drama, Darshan’s ongoing jail term has raised questions — will the star even witness his film’s release celebrations? Sources say the actor is struggling with basic comforts behind bars, and fans are upset that the film team hasn’t visited him even once.
An industry insider summed it up sharply: “In today’s cinema, money speaks louder than emotions — whether Darshan is inside or outside, Devil is already a profitable deal.” When we learnt that the director is in regular touch with Vijayalakshmi Darshan, constantly updating her about the film’s progress, sources add that the director has been working day and night to ensure Devil releases on time, they concluded.
