Chowkidar to hit screens on January 30

The much anticipated Kannada film Chowkidar starring Pruthvi Ambaar and Dhanya Ramkumar in lead roles is set to release across Karnataka on January 30.

Having already generated interest with its title and content, the trailer launch further heightened expectations. The event was held at the Kannada Artists’ Association in Bengaluru, with Police Inspector Raghavendra Gowda and High Court advocate Praveen attending as special guests and extending their best wishes to the team.

Speaking after the trailer release, Inspector Raghavendra Gowda said, “Soldiers guard the nation at the borders, and police protect the inner regions. Similarly, within a family, the father is the chowkidar (protector). The film is built on this beautiful idea. Watching the trailer reminded me of my parents. In the pressures of work, we often forget them; their love is truly felt when they are no longer around. I wish the entire Chowkidar team the very best and hope the film celebrates a 100-day run.”

High Court advocate Praveen remarked, “The trailer clearly reflects strong teamwork. A film is a director’s dream, and for a producer, it is like a child.

Director Chandrashekhar Bandiyappa said, “I have shown on screen exactly what I wanted to convey. Music is composed by Sachin Basrur, with lyrics by V. Nagendra Prasad, Santosh Nayak, and Pramod Maravante. Chowkidhar means protector. The title has no political connection.”

Lead actor Pruthvi Ambar shared, “Our director is the true chowkidhar of this film he guided me through every step. Any credit the film receives belongs to him. Reading the script brought changes in my own life. Sai Kumar is the real hero of this film. Chaukidar is not just entertainment; it will also provoke thought among audiences.”

Through Chowkidar, director Chandrashekhar Bandiyappa sets out to tell a deeply moving story, beautifully portraying the bond between a father and son. The film features veteran actor Sai Kumar who has completed 50 years in cinema—in a pivotal role. A

Actress Shwetha (of Chaitrada Premanjali fame) and Sudharani play key characters, alongside Bigg Boss fame Dharma (popularly known as Gilli) and several others.

Produced under the VS Entertainment banner by Kallahalli Chandrashekhar, with Vidyadevi as co-producer, the film features cinematography by Siddu Kanchanahalli, choreography by Murali Master, editing by Gnanesh Matad, and action sequences by Jai Subrahmanya.
