A local court in Kundapura has intervened in the highly publicized Chaithra Kundapura family dispute, issuing a protective order to shield the former Bigg Boss contestant’s elderly father from harassment. The order comes amid escalating tensions within the family, which have spilled over into social media and drawn significant public attention.

The 70-year-old petitioner, a retired senior citizen and father of Chaithra Kundapura, approached the civil court seeking urgent protection, citing threats and severe mental stress allegedly caused by certain family members. During the hearing, the judge examined evidence that included instances of verbal abuse and public shaming campaigns conducted online against the father.

In its ruling, the court issued clear directives: no party involved in the Chaithra Kundapura family dispute shall engage in physical attacks, verbal threats, or mental harassment against the father. The order mandates that all individuals respect his safety, privacy, and dignity, and refrain from public provocations or social media campaigns targeting him. The bench emphasized that family disputes, particularly those involving public figures, must be resolved strictly through legal channels and not through intimidation or trial by social media.

The court specifically noted the harmful role of platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram in escalating private conflicts, causing undue distress to vulnerable seniors. It warned that violations of the order would attract strict penalties, including fines or arrests, and instructed local police and taluk authorities to enforce the ruling and act promptly on any complaints.

This judgment in the Chaithra Kundapura family dispute highlights a growing judicial trend in Karnataka to protect elderly family members from becoming casualties in high-profile, viral family feuds, ensuring their well-being amid intense public scrutiny.
