The Akhanda 2 release postponed announcement has disappointed fans as the much-anticipated sequel starring Nandamuri Balakrishna will not hit theaters on December 5 as originally planned. The producers, 14 Reels Plus, shared the news on social media, citing “unavoidable circumstances” and expressing regret over the delay.
The Akhanda 2 release postponed decision comes after Eros International Media Limited secured an injunction from the Madras High Court, barring the film’s distribution and commercial release. The court order followed Eros’s appeal regarding an outstanding arbitral award of approximately ₹28 crore against 14 Reels Entertainment Private Limited, alleging that the release was an attempt to circumvent financial obligations.
Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam is the follow-up to the 2021 blockbuster Akhanda, promising a similar blend of mythology, spirituality, and high-octane action. With the Akhanda 2 release postponed indefinitely pending further court directives, fans must now await a new date for Balakrishna’s return to the big screen.
