In a major diplomatic and technological milestone, India has inaugurated the India AI Impact Summit in New Delhi, drawing participation from nearly 20 heads of state along with leading technology executives from companies such as Google and Microsoft. Prominent world leaders, including Emmanuel Macron and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, are also attending the high-profile gathering.
The five-day summit is designed to position India at the forefront of shaping ethical, inclusive, and globally coordinated artificial intelligence policies. As the first event of its scale hosted in the Global South, the forum is focusing on innovation, regulatory cooperation, and equitable digital growth for emerging and developed economies alike.
Officials believe the summit could strengthen India’s global leadership in technology governance while encouraging international collaboration on responsible AI development and deployment.
