23-km Business Corridor to Get Fast-Track Push, Tenders Likely by March

Bengaluru: In a major boost to the city’s infrastructure plans, authorities have prioritised the 23-km stretch of the Bengaluru Business Corridor (BBC) connecting Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) with NICE Road for accelerated execution. The move is aimed at improving airport access and strengthening links with the city’s expressway network.

Officials said tenders for the project are expected to be issued by March, marking a significant step toward easing chronic traffic congestion on key arterial roads leading to the airport. Once operational, the corridor is expected to substantially cut travel time for daily commuters as well as commercial vehicles.

The proposed stretch will act as a vital transport artery, facilitating smoother movement of goods and passengers while reducing pressure on existing routes. Urban planners believe the project will not only enhance connectivity between the airport and southern and western parts of the city but also support Bengaluru’s expanding economic and logistics ecosystem.

With traffic volumes rising steadily alongside the city’s growth, the fast-tracked execution of the Business Corridor is being seen as a critical intervention to improve mobility and sustain Bengaluru’s long-term infrastructure needs.
