Kannada cinema’s first publicity organisation, Raghavendra Chitravani, founded in 1976 by late D. V. Sudheendra, has completed 50 years. The organisation has handled publicity for over 3,000 films and is the only PRO in Indian cinema history to remain active for five decades. It is currently led by Sudheendra Venkatesh, with support from his family.
As a prelude to the golden jubilee celebrations planned for April, the Golden Jubilee logo was unveiled recently by senior actor J. K. Srinivasamurthy, actor Komal Kumar, and actress Anu Prabhakar Mukherjee, in the presence of Padma Sudheendra. The dignitaries recalled Sudheendra’s contributions and praised the organisation’s enduring journey. Sudheendra Venkatesh thanked the film and media fraternity for their continued support and said preparations are underway for a grand 50th anniversary celebration.
