Kannada film producer R. Srinivas, known for backing several commercially successful projects under the banner R.S. Productions, is set to return to theatres with his latest venture Cotton Pet Gate, which is scheduled for a statewide release on February 6.
R. Srinivas has previously delivered a string of popular Kannada films such as Yuvraj, Kanthi, Bharjari, and Bahaddoor, establishing a strong foothold in the commercial cinema space. Continuing that legacy, Cotton Pet Gate is being positioned as a full-fledged mass entertainer aimed at a wide audience base.
The film is directed by Y. Rajakumar, who blends action, comedy, emotion, and drama into a single narrative. Notably, the project has been mounted on a grand scale and simultaneously produced in Kannada and Telugu, signalling the makers’ intent to reach audiences beyond Karnataka.
Technically, the film brings together an experienced crew. Cinematography is handled by Yogi Reddy, while music is composed by N.S. Prasanna, with lyrics penned by noted lyricist Chetan Kumar. Editing responsibilities are managed by Shiva Sarvani.
The ensemble cast features Venu Gopal, Yashwanth, Surabhi Tiwari, Anusha Jain, Sudhiksha, Kisele Chaudhary, Parthu, 8pm Sayikumara, Raghu, Kattappa, among others, contributing to the film’s multi-character narrative.
With its commercial ingredients, bilingual production strategy, and a February 6 release date locked in, Cotton Pet Gate is expected to be a notable addition to the Kannada film calendar this season.
