The inspiring journey of late Kannada superstar Puneeth Rajkumar from child artist to socially conscious icon will soon grace Karnataka’s school textbooks. This heartfelt decision has moved his family and fans deeply.
The Karnataka Textbook Society confirmed it will present the proposal to its chairman during the upcoming textbook revision process, ensuring future editions feature lessons on his life and achievements.
Puneeth’s wife, Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, expressed overwhelming joy at the news. “I’m truly elated and grateful. I thank the Karnataka government for this unique honor to my husband and our family,” she says.
Sharing the update with their children was an emotional highlight for Ashwini. “They know this is a profound tribute to their father,” she said. “Cinema is full of stars, but immortalizing him in textbooks feels truly special not everyone receives this.”
The idea originated in 2022 from a fan in T. Narasipura who urged the state government. Dr. Rajkumar’s life already appears in the sixth-standard first-language Kannada textbook, and fans argue Puneeth’s blend of cinematic success and philanthropy warrants its own spotlight. The Textbook Society has assured consideration in the next revisions.
For Ashwini, this inclusion ensures Puneeth’s values endure. “It will help the next generation truly understand him,” she noted.
“Children need to know the person he was, not just the actor. Learning never stops we must keep improving in all we do, just as he did.”She fondly recalled his philosophy: “Puneeth always emphasized hard work and full commitment. He’d say, ‘Give your 100%, and success follows. Pour your heart and soul into everything.’ And he lived those words every day.”
