In an unprecedented birthday tribute, the inner circle of Kannada superstar Yash has transformed a moving piece of public transport into a massive celebratory display. The Yash metro train birthday billboard initiative saw a full Namma Metro train on the Purple Line wrapped in vibrant birthday advertisements, creating a mobile spectacle that launched ahead of the Rocking Star’s 40th birthday on January 8.
The unique Yash metro train birthday billboard was made possible by the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited’s (BMRCL) policy, introduced in June 2025, to allow full-train advertisements on active services. Akash Gowda, head of Yash’s fan club, stated the goal was to move beyond traditional hoardings and create an “out-of-the-box” homage. Videos of the wrapping process went viral, and the dedicated train will shuttle between Challaghatta and Whitefield for a month.
While Namma Metro has carried commercial ads before, this marks the first time a metro train has been turned into a Yash metro train birthday billboard for a film icon, setting a new benchmark for fan tributes. The grand gesture coincides with the release of a new poster for Yash’s upcoming film, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups, on his birthday.
