Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has announced a landmark Microsoft India AI investment of US$17.5 billion the tech giant’s largest-ever commitment in Asia aimed at accelerating India’s artificial intelligence and cloud capabilities. Following an “inspiring conversation” with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Microsoft India AI investment will focus on building advanced AI infrastructure, expanding data centers, launching large-scale skilling programs, and strengthening India’s sovereign technological ecosystem.
This historic Microsoft India AI investment includes plans for a new hyperscale cloud region and extensive support for India’s growing AI innovation landscape.
