The Ranveer Singh Kantara apology has been issued by the actor following significant backlash for his mimicry of a scene from Kantara Chapter 1 at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. In a statement posted on his Instagram, the Ranveer Singh Kantara apology clarified his intent: “My intention was to highlight Rishabh’s incredible performance in the film. Actor to actor, I know how much it would take to perform that particular scene… I have always deeply respected every culture, tradition and belief in our country. If I’ve hurt anyone’s sentiments, I sincerely apologise.”
The controversy emerged just ahead of the release of his upcoming film Dhurandhar, a spy action thriller directed by Aditya Dhar, where Ranveer plays an undercover R&AW agent. Co-starring Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, the film is set to release on December 5, 2025.
