Shashikumar Tara Rudravathara is now one of Sandalwood’s most talked-about reunions, as veteran actors Shashikumar and Tara come together for the 26th time in their careers. The film, titled Rudravathara, is directed by Sawaad Mangaluru and marks yet another emotionally charged collaboration between the celebrated pair.
In the film, Shashikumar plays the role of a responsible father. A two-minute teaser introducing the major characters was recently released, giving audiences a first glimpse into the world of Rudravathara. The movie’s shooting will officially begin on the 24th of this month. The project is produced by Dr. Premanand V. Gavas, a Dandeli-based entrepreneur.
Producer Premanand, speaking to the media, said:
“I am a businessman, but more than making money, my intention is to convey a good message to society. It has always been my dream to produce a movie. I will also be appearing in a powerful role in this film.”
Director Sawaad Mangaluru explained the thematic core of the film:
“Rudravathara is the other form of Lord Shiva. I want to portray how middle-class parents fight to protect their children and how they take on the Rudravathara. Parents sacrifice their own dreams for their children, but when danger strikes, they fight without fearing for their lives. That transformation is the heart of the story. Three characters take on this Rudra form, with Shashikumar playing the principal role.”
Lead actor Shashikumar shared his excitement about the role, saying:
“This is not a typical hero-heroine centric film. The content itself is the hero. I play an auto driver and a father fighting for his daughter. The film has many heart-touching moments. When I heard the first half, I got goosebumps.”
Veteran actress Tara added:
“In this film, every character is important to the story. After many years, I am working again with Shashikumar and Sangeetha.”
The supporting cast includes Sangeetha, Yash Shetty, Vardhan Teerthahalli, Ankita Jayaram and Sadhana. Shashikumar’s son Aditya was present at the announcement and conveyed his best wishes.
The technical team features Alan Bharat as the cinematographer, Paul Alex as the music director and Srikanth as the editor.
