Yash’s Mother Pushpalatha Police Complaint Alleges Major Fraud in Kothalavadi Promotions

Yash mother Pushpalatha police complaint

Yash’s mother Pushpalatha police complaint has brought to light a major financial fraud controversy in Sandalwood. Pushpalatha, mother of Kannada star Yash and producer of Kothalavadi, has filed a detailed police case accusing a film promoter and his associates of cheating, illegal money collection, fund misuse and criminal intimidation during the movie’s promotional campaign.

According to the complaint filed at the High Grounds Police Station, Pushpalatha had hired a PRO team to handle promotions for a mutually agreed fee of Rs 23 lakh. As stated in the FIR, the team received Rs 15 lakh as initial payment.

However, Pushpalatha alleges that the promoter went on to illegally collect an additional Rs 24 lakh using the film’s name across multiple channels without permission. She further claims the promoter took a total of Rs 64,87,700, which includes a Rs 4 lakh cash payment meant for print advertising.

Despite collecting this large sum, Pushpalatha asserts that no actual promotional work was delivered for the film.

The film Kothalavadi, starring Pruthvi Ambaar and Kavya Shaiva, released on August 1, but Pushpalatha says the movie suffered due to the unexplained disappearance of funds and the absence of promised promotion.

Actor Forced to Pay for Trailer Launch

In her complaint, Pushpalatha mentions that the film’s actor had to personally fund the trailer launch. She claims the actor spent Rs 21,75,000 on the July 23 trailer event because the promoter failed to provide any support.

According to her statement, the alleged fraud left the film’s team financially strained and forced the actors to take on responsibilities that were contractually assigned to the PRO.

Industry Reaction & Next Steps

The Yash mother Pushpalatha police complaint has sparked widespread debate within the Kannada film industry, raising concerns about accountability and transparency in film promotion deals.

Police are expected to begin a detailed investigation into Pushpalatha’s allegations, which include cheating, unauthorised money collection, and negligence of promotional duties.

The case is now moving into the next legal phase as authorities verify payment trails, communication records and documentation submitted along with the complaint.
