Bengaluru:
In a major legal development, a city court has issued summons to former Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa in the ongoing POCSO case, intensifying public and political attention around the matter. The directive requires the senior BJP leader to appear in person on December 2 — a key point now widely discussed under the BS Yediyurappa POCSO case court summons issue.
Summons issued to all four accused
Along with Yediyurappa, the court has also issued summons to the other accused in the case — Arun, Mariswamy, and Rudresh. This follows the Karnataka High Court’s decision to dismiss Yediyurappa’s petition challenging the earlier summons issued by the trial court.
High Court clears the way for proceedings
A single-judge bench headed by Justice M.I. Arun upheld the trial court’s order, allowing the case to move forward. With the High Court refusing to interfere, the CID investigation will continue without disruption. Legal experts say this marks a crucial step in the progression of the BS Yediyurappa POCSO case court summons matter.
Prosecution demands presence of all accused
Public Prosecutor Ashok Naik strongly argued for issuing summons to all four accused, stating that their presence was essential for the next phase of the proceedings. The trial court accepted the argument, leading to fresh summons and a renewed push in the legal process.
Case returns to trial court
The case, which has drawn significant political interest across Karnataka, now moves back to the trial court. Yediyurappa and the other accused have been asked to appear again on May 2, marking the next notable date in the ongoing legal process.
With the BS Yediyurappa POCSO case court summons now reaffirmed by both the High Court and the trial court, the proceedings are set to accelerate in the coming months.
