The app was officially launched by Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar at a private event on Saturday. Developed with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Appu FanDum App (Kannada PRK Mobile App) allows fans to relive Puneeth Rajkumar’s remarkable journey — from his childhood to his cinematic and humanitarian milestones — through immersive, interactive digital experiences.
The event witnessed the presence of producer Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, Star FanDum App chairman Dr. Samartha Raghav Nagabhushanam, and the core development team behind the initiative.
Speaking at the launch, D.K. Shivakumar fondly recalled his memories with the late actor:
“I tried many times to bring Puneeth into politics — even offered him chocolates to convince him — but he never accepted. I had invited Ashwini too, but she said she would continue walking on her husband’s path. I am revealing this for the first time today,” he said.
He further added,
“Just as Ramayana and Mahabharata live on through centuries, the works and values of Puneeth Rajkumar will live forever through new technology. AI today brings historical figures like Bhima, Arjuna, and Rama to life — similarly, this app brings Appu back to us. His fans have built hundreds of statues, named their children after him, and kept his memory alive. Now, technology brings him to light once again.”
Expressing her gratitude, Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar shared,
“Appu was always a seeker of innovation. His constant quest for new ideas led to the birth of PRK Productions — he always wanted to give opportunities to newcomers.
