Bengaluru | October 23, 2025 — The festive spirit of Deepavali brought with it a heartfelt cinematic announcement for Kannada audiences. Celebrated film publicist Sudheendra Venkatesh, a name synonymous with professionalism and passion in Sandalwood, has donned a new hat as a producer with his debut short film, First Salary. The film is directed by his son, Pavan Venkatesh, marking a creative collaboration that bridges generations of cinematic dedication.
Carrying the tagline “Path of Dreams,” First Salary is produced under the prestigious banner of Sri Raghavendra Chitravani — a brand that has been the heartbeat of Kannada cinema publicity for over five decades. Founded by the late D.V. Sudheendra, one of Karnataka’s most revered film publicists, the banner has promoted and supported hundreds of films while also producing memorable hits such as Olavina Udugore, Ganeshana Maduve, Gundana Maduve, Nagu Nagutha Nali, and Puttanna Kanasina Puta.
With First Salary, Sudheendra Venkatesh carries forward this iconic legacy, extending the Chitravani name from film publicity into film production. His son, Pavan Venkatesh — who has earlier directed short films such as Karala Roga Naasha and the animated Ram Janma Bhoomi — takes the directorial reins for this emotional 24-minute drama.
Set around the tender theme of a mother’s sentiment, the short film features a talented ensemble cast including Harini Srikanth, Vijay Shivakumar, Yathiraj, Trishul, Snehashree, and Rakshit. The film was shot over five days in various locales across Bengaluru. Technical credits include music by Vijay Haritsa, cinematography and editing by Richard Daniel, and writing by Vijay Shivakumar.
First Salary is expected to resonate deeply with audiences for its universal theme and heartfelt storytelling. The film will soon premiere on the Sri Raghavendra Chitravani YouTube channel, continuing the legacy of a family that has tirelessly served and celebrated Kannada cinema for generations.
